Venetian mosaic (glass mosaic - smalta) in the church in Karczew near the Warsaw - main altar mosaic

In the chancel of the church we executed glass mosaic. The design was inspired by the oil painting "Lord's Mercy". The painting was made in the aftermath of vision of St. Faustian Kowalska. The facing of the wall consist of thousands of glass pieces. Each piece is 1x1 cm big. We had worked for 1 year with covering 25 sq. meters of the wall. Most laborious were details of figure. Here are some historical pictures showing our work with the mosaic. Design by Paweł Przyrowski.
